The Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees are responsible for the smooth running of the society.

PRESIDENT
Cortina Henderson



Cortina became Centre Stage's first ever President in 2007 after 16 years with the group, including many as Chairwoman. Cortina's role involves ensuring the membership and charity is run fairly and in accordance with the constitution, to sit on audition panels to ensure fairness and inclusion, and to also support the Chair in representing the Charity. Cortina thanks all the many casts, crews, production teams and audiences for their unending support over the years.

CHAIR
Benjamin Thiele Long


Benjamin joined Centre Stage in 2011 and joined the Board of Trustees in 2014. His role involves being the primary spokesperson for the society and to ensure the charity’s brand values and members are kept at the forefront of decision making, whilst maintaining leadership of the Charity​.

TREASURER
Nick Dore

We are delighted to have charity professional Nick at our helm, taking care of all the finances! His role involves overseeing the financial affairs of the charity, advising on the financial implications of strategic plans, and ensuring the long-term viability of the charity​. He also approves and monitors production budgets in conjunction with the producer.​

SECRETARY
Andreas Hansen


Andreas joined Centre Stage for Evita in 2016, and was thrilled to join the Board of Trustees the same year. His role includes; ensuring that board meetings and other meetings, such as the AGM, are properly arranged and administered, to monitor trustee action points and draft correspondence and minutes as required​.

BUSINESS MANAGER
Alexis Rose


Alexis first joined Centre Stage in 2011 and joined the Board of Trustees in 2013. Her role includes; devising and delivering short and long term development opportunities and to proactively identify ways to improve efficiency and increase cost savings, she also liaises with other charities to maximise ideas, reach and impact.

BUSINESS & PRODUCTION
ASSISTANT
Emma Newman
Emma joined Centre Stage as 'Molly' in Ghost in 2015. She was thrilled to join the Board of Trustees the same year as Secretary. She's pleased to have now moved into the business side of the society. Her role involves; supporting the Business Manager by identifying and delivering short and long term fundraising opportunities, identifying opportunities for advertising, sponsorship and grants.

FUNDRAISING OFFICER
Sara Simon-Vermot



Sara joined Centre Stage in 2016 in our production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Evita and was excited to join the committee as Fundraising Officer. Sara's role includes proactively identifying fundraising opportunities, creating our annual fundraising plan and delivering central fundraising events throughout the year.

MARKETING MANAGER
Naomi Finn



Naomi joined the committee in August 2013. A Web Designer by day she loves producing copious amounts of marketing collateral, including programmes, and posters. Her role involves planning and managing all external and internal marketing activity. She manages the website and all social media channels, and oversees the delivery of all production collateral to ensure it meets with brand values, whilst ensuring marketing activity is boosting the image of the society.

MEMBERSHIP OFFICER
Jonathan Ford


Jonathan joined Centre Stage in 2015 and is delighted to be focusing on our membership, new and old. If you've emailed us, it'll probably be Jonathan you're talking to! His role involves managing the Centre Stage membership, and organising Centre Stage masterclasses and  social events, he also writes Spotlight, our monthly newsletter​.

MARKETING OFFICER
(PR and Communications)
Victoria Shooter



Victoria joined Centre Stage in 2001 and was previously Chair for 5 years from 2009 - 2014. She is thrilled to be back as of August 2016 in a marketing role. Her role involves organising and strategising email and PR communication, working alongside the Marketing Manager. She also organises communication with other societies, including like-for-like marketing for email and programmes.

MARKETING OFFICER
(Social Media)
Stuart James
Stuart joined Centre Stage as Producer for 9 to 5 April 2016 and joined the commitee in August 2016. His role involves working with the Marketing Manager on social media strategies and he manages the Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.

We're still on the lookout for people to join.

 

We are still looking for an Operations Office and an additional Marketing Officer as these role did not receive applications at our AGM. As these are not mandatory roles they can be co-opted and do not require a members' vote unless we have multiple applications.
