Head Over Heels is the bold new musical comedy from the visionaries that rocked Broadway with Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Avenue Q and Spring Awakening.
Bursting onto Broadway in 2018, Head Over Heels dazzled New York, quickly becoming a sensation that captivated audiences. On this side of the pond, the show had it’s triumphant UK premiere at Manchester’s Hop Mill Theatre in 2023. With its infectious blend of classic pop hits and a fresh, modern take on a Shakespearean- esque tale, Head Over Heels inspired and helped shape the vibrant, nostalgic spirit of the hit musical & Juliet. Get ready for a theatrical experience that’s as bold and exhilarating as the music that drives it!
This laugh-out-loud love story is set to the music of the iconic 1980's all-female rock band The Go-Go's, including the hit songs, “We Got the Beat,” “Our Lips Are Sealed,” “Vacation,” Belinda Carlisle's “Heaven is a Place on Earth” and “Mad About You.” A modern musical fairy tale where once-upon-a-time is right now, Head Over Heels is a dazzling celebration of queer love, identity and self-discovery set to the infectious music of The Go-Go's. This vibrant musical takes Sir Philip Sidney's 16th century classic, “The Arcadia”, based around a royal family on a journey to save their kingdom and infuses it with a modern, inclusive twist. With characters that explore and embrace a spectrum of gender identities and sexual orientations, Head Over Heels joyfully defies traditional norms, creating a space where everyone can be their authentic selves. The show is a colourful, heartwarming testament to the power of love in all its forms, wrapped up in an irresistible, feel-good package.
Buzzfeed said Head Over Heels was the “most radically Queer show on Broadway” while New York Magazine called it “a clever, delightful, bubbly, exuberant party!”
You don’t want to miss the London premiere of this exciting new musical being staged at Off-West End’s iconic Bridewell Theatre.
