Christmas Carols in Trafalgar Square
“The best way to spread Christmas is cheer singing loud for all to hear!”- Buddy, The Elf
On Friday 13th of December and Sunday 15th of December, we were delighted to raise our voices with fellow am-dram groups Sedos and Geoids to raise money for the NSPCC- The UK Children’s Charity.
As the UK’s leading children's charity fighting to end child abuse, the NSPCC strives to protect children today and prevent abuse tomorrow. Receiving 90% funding from supporters, the NSPCC rely on people like us to make sure they can help every child who needs them.
So to do our part, we gathered in Trafalgar Square to sing Christmas carols under the direction of musical maestro’s Dominic Bull and Adrian Hau. Crowds gathered to hear our festive group and sing along to favourites such as Oh Come All Ye Faithful, Silent Night, Away In A Manger, Ding Song Merrily On High, Hark The Herald Angels Sing and the Carol of the Bells.
During our time in Trafalgar Square, members stood with buckets and card machines ready to take donations for the NSPCC and we’re delighted to announce we raised a total of £563 for this very worthy cause!
