mickey polon
(she/her)

Meet Mickey! Centre Stage's new dynamic Events Officer! Australian expat, year 2 teacher, and theatre lover. Mickey’s flair for musical theatre began at the age of 8 when she played an Oompa Loompa in her school production of Willy Wonka, however she decided to pursue a career in teaching to experience life as a performer but to an audience of tiny humans who think she is the best comedian on the planet. Mickey is relatively new to Centre Stage but is very much looking forward to planning fantastic events, building a community, and bringing people together. She's super excited to create unforgettable experiences for Centre Stage members and meet like minded people!

SOCIAL MEDIA OFFICER
MAria Alexandrou

Maria is a very recent addition to Centre Stage but is not new to the theatre scene. She recently got back into acting since her childhood playing in shows and attending workshops across several 'fringe' theatres including The Space, Arcola and Stratford East. The time that gave her most joy in her creative career was taking not one but two main acting roles in They'll Never Close the Docks!, a production by SpaceWorks. She has also played a Moroccan Storyteller in Mint Tea in Marrakech with the Woodhouse Players and doesn't shy away from using accents when she can! Her passions lie in acting and public speaking in equal measure, as she is a disability advocate and campaigner; she has been a speaker on several panels at events on topics related to disability at work and in the creative industries. She owns Curious Creatives CIC which supports disabled people within the creative industries and is in the process of launching a case study proving "the benefits of consuming or producing film, TV or theatre on disability or neurodiversity". She loves her day job too which is in PR and Communications within the Civil Service, and sees herself as a "curious, courageous, and creative storyteller with cracking communication skills!". She dares you to try saying that on repeat - and doesn't lack a sense of humour!
